Last Week on Style Diary: I talked about clothes.
This week on Style Diary, I am talking about clothes, but in Atlanta. Game changed. Now that the hipsters have taken over the city, playing around with style in Atlanta is fun.
I’m pretty upset Atlanta became cool after I left.
I had tried looking for the perfect jean jacket in vintage shops in New York and couldn’t find any that were right, so I decided to wait until I got to Atlanta to go to The Clothing Warehouse. They have an entire wall of great vintage jean jackets. It’s a trucker’s denim heaven. I found the perfect vintage Levis jean jacket (the style of which is called Relaxed Trucker.) I was so happy that it was cold the day after I bought it so I could pair it with this mock neck sweater from American Eagle (on SALE for $19.99). I’m also obsessed with these round tortoise shell sunglasses also from AE.
This outfit was by far my favorite outfit of the trip. I’ve been planning to steal this Forty Licks concert t-shirt from my mom forever. Once I saw it, I decided I was going to pair it with these lighter denim jeans from American Eagle. I added the red belt to break up the denim. But, in the end I was wearing a true Canadian tuxedo.
My favorite black ripped jeans are back with this awesome vintage CBGB shirt I found at Junkman’s Daughter in Little Five Points, Atlanta and a leopard print belt from Torrid (came in a pack of 3). I am also wearing my favorite American Eagle booties. This outfit is pretty much everything I love most in my closet currently with ice cream on top.
Well, would you look at that? My favorite ripped jeans are back and this time they’re paired with a more dressed up white American Eagle sweater (on SALE for $19.99). And my fossil sunglasses make a cool return along with my black AE booties.
And for the last outfit (which ironically was actually the first outfit I wore, but the photos uploaded in reversed order) I wore all American Eagle from head to toe. I’m hoping at this point you’re sensing the trend that I buy a lot of clothes from American Eagle. But, can you really blame me? I needed this perfect velvet floral kimono (on SALE for $19.99.) I paired it with this blush pink tank top (on SALE for $9.99) and black jeans (different pair, but on SALE for $19.99) again with my black booties.
I definitely own a lot of staple pieces that I constantly wear and are almost always black. I like to have solid pieces that go with everything and then a few different pieces to spice things up. I’m trying to break the habit of just buying all black clothing and am working on slowly integrating more color.
Definitely going to try and work on more style posts. Let me know what you think!
