Kylie Kostume

Because I am not into Halloween or spending money and I couldn’t find my old cat ears, I decided this year to make a costume out of stuff I already owned. Since I have a serious girl crush on Kylie Jenner, I decided to do my best to replicate her look with what I had in my closet.

I already wanted to dye my hair pink for a while and conveniently Kylie has been rocking a cool shade of pink lately. I used some pink hair dye from Overtone I had from the last time I made my hair crazy colors. I also had clip in extensions from a friend that I dyed the same color to get Kylie’s ridiculously thick and long hair.

The outfit is all stuff from my closet:

The bodysuit is Forever 21 Plus and the bomber jacket is also Forever 21 Plus.

The jeans are my favorite super high rise jeans from American Eagle that I wear with everything.

And, the boots are also American Eagle. They are so comfortable and not too high to wear all day every day. (I couldn’t copy Kylie’s taste in shoes because this is New York and I have to walk places and be able to stand).

The sunglasses are actually from one of those weird shops on St. Marks where the guys harass you into buying stuff. I buy sunglasses there all the time because they’re super cheap and not that bad of quality for the price. I bought two pairs and bargained them down to $20 for both.

The most important part of the costume is of course the lips. I used a slightly dark nude lip liner that I know stays on really well and covered my entire lips. Then, I used a Revlon matte lipgloss on top. I’m obsessed with these matte lip glosses. They are the best drug store brand I have found. They stay on forever (literally through an entire night of heavy drinking) and they don’t dry out your lips. I own it in every color.

In the end, the costume really just looks like my normal style with a weave and cool sunglasses. But, I thought I did a pretty good job getting Kylie’s look from my own clothes.

I went through her Instagram to get an idea of how she poses and then had a fun little photoshoot trying to channel my inner Kylie.
