Someone once told me they liked my “style” and that went straight to my head. So now that I know I have great style (jk I just wear a lot of black), I’ve decided to incorporate a style aspect to my blog.
I didn’t really think much into what I wore until I moved to New York. I was an athlete my whole life so I lived in whatever sweatpants the team gave us. Now that I live in a city where everyone is constantly trying to prove their individuality through style, I can pretty much wear whatever the hell I want and call it style.
I have decided to start this new venture with a “style diary” from my time in London. I feel like any time I travel to Europe I’m trying twice as hard to not look like a basic America and I undoubtedly fail every time.
Everyone needs a good “airport style” photo. My airport style is put on as many layers as possible because your suitcase definitely weighs over 50lbs.
I pretty much always resort to any sort of monochrome black outfit with a different colored jacket. It’s an easy look to put together and it’s slimming (which is never a bad thing.) And of course on any bad hair day, I resort to a baseball hat. The jacket is from Old Navy. It’s a nice lightweight fleece jacket that has a moto jacket look to it.
Forever 21 is selling Purpose Tour merchandise. I bought this tank top and a t-shirt. With this tank top, I cut out the neck line to create a choker with the neck of the shirt. I saw a tutorial on how to do it on weworewhat.com.
If I was a rich girl (na na na na na): I’m in love with the shape of these sunglasses. I wear them all the time. They are $10 sunglasses from a store on the corner of St. Marks. If I was a rich girl, I’d get a better pair. Like these:
This long sleeve dress from Old Navy is perfect for an easy outfit that looks like you put effort into getting dressed. I dressed it down for daytime with some white tennis shoes (mainly cause I wear those shoes all the time). This small Kate Spade bag is the perfect small bag. It’s small but still big enough to hold my oversized wallet. It’s not sold anymore but another small Kate Spade is this link. I’m also obsessed with these Free People sunglasses. They were surprisingly only $20. And yes, I totally bought them for this trip because their design is called “London Calling.”
The last three outfits I got from American Eagle when all their summer clothes were 60% off. It was the perfect time of year to need clothes for the beach.
This dress I got from Old Navy for $10 during a sale. It’s just a simple black dress with daisies on it, but over time I’ve been able to dress it up a bunch of different ways, this being the more casual of them.
Switched up the all black for a white crop top with some small cutout pattern. Still always prefer to stick to basic colors. These super high wasted jeans from American Eagle are amazing! They are super comfortable and they make your legs look way longer. I think it’s a sign of maturity that I replace leggings with black jeans now when I’m trying to dress up (lawlz).
More Purpose Tour merch! I am not necessarily a huge fan of Justin Bieber. I actually bought the shirts because I really like the graphics. It’s a cool piece with an edgy design that is easy to play into outfits because it sticks to black and white and a bit of red on the back.
This whole style blog act is new for me so let me know what you think and comment below! Like & share if you enjoyed it!
